We have three Apprenticeship vacancies available for our September 2018 intake, including two for Electrical Installation (Industrial), and one for Electrical Engineering (Panel Building).

We are an industry-leading, dynamic, and fast-growing electrical and mechanical engineering company, looking for ambitious, hard-working, and motivated individuals, who are enthusiastic to work within the fast-paced Engineering sector, and who are keen and able to progress to a higher level within their field. This role is full time (38 hours p/w) with potential for overtime, and 29 days holiday per year, inclusive of 8 statutory holidays.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

Applicants must hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C, or equivalent, including Maths, English, and at least one Science-related subject (e.g. physics, engineering, technology, etc). Applicants with A Level passes in Maths, Science, or Technology, or who have some work experience in an Engineering discipline, may be better suited to the programme.

The ability to work at heights and/or in confined spaces is a pre-requisite, and applicants must not be colour blind. Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be flexible to work outside of “normal working hours” if required, and have the ability to travel to work at client locations.

The Role:

The GES Group Apprenticeship Programme is approved by the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), and delivered in partnership with the Northern Regional College (NRC). Successful applicants will embark on a 4 year Apprenticeship Programme, before completing a qualifying Junior Engineer year. There are no upper age restrictions for applicants.

Apprentices must be able to work within a team, and possess good communication and literacy skills. Apprentices should aim to broaden their knowledge and understanding, and work efficiently and accurately, with a high level of dependability, being able to meet deadlines, complete paperwork, and follow detailed instructions. It is beneficial for Apprentices to have sound IT skills.

Apprentices should demonstrate a keen interest in Engineering and in their studies. GES Group offer advice, guidance, and regular one-to-one mentoring sessions with an NVQ Assessor, as well as a structured review process. Apprentices are expected to participate fully in their own development. Attendance at college and the workplace are equally important.
