Project Overview:

A key customer for the group had requested a range of electrical works from GES.

  1. These works included the installation of new carpark lighting and security cameras for the safety and wellbeing of their personnel.
  1. This scope of works also included new charging points to be installed for their fleet of lorries.
  1. The customer has expanded their office area which included the installation of portacabins.  GES Group had been awarded the scope of works that included the electrical wiring up of these units to have access to power.
  1. The switchroom needed to offer a larger supply of electricity to the site and GES designed, built and commissioned the new panels for the supply. For 3 years the customer had a generator on site which they had to use from 5am till 5pm costing thousands of pounds per week to fuel and hire, as their demand load was higher than their supply. Once the new transformer was installed this gave them 2 supplies, one for existing Switchgear, and one for new switchboard which GES Group designed and installed.  Due to the large load in the existing board this load was gradually transferred through time from existing switchboard to the new switchboard to bring the load down so they could take away the temporary generator, saving them money. This took time and long hours as most of the works had to be done out of hours when production was stopped. Our customer can now use full demand over the 2 Switchboards without having to worry about tripping the main MCCB. The HV network is left for future expansion due to major plans for the site.
  1. To enable our customer to build the new extension of the Kill line they had machinery to move before these works could be carried out. GES spent many weekends moving control panels and rewiring of machinery to new locations to free up space for the new line coming in. GES also disconnected old machinery over a long weekend to allow installation of the new kill line which the group assisted with the wiring and connections of this.

Our customer has future plans for the renovation and expansion of their existing site, which GES have been assisting and supporting along the way.
